Frontier Militia Spider Walker

Spider tank, based on early Titanfall 2 concept art by Kevin Anderson (https://www.artstation.com/shir0kuma). Modeled in Fusion, retopologized in Zbrush and Maya, UV mapped in Maya, and textured/rendered in Substance Painter.

If you've been following me a while, you'll find this project very familiar. I had modeled and textured this piece last year, but always felt that it only ever hit about 70% of what it could have been. With the urging of some peers and coworkers to revisit the spider tank, I decided to take everything I've learned over the last year and remake the asset almost from the ground up. I kept the initial high-poly model as-is, but fully retopologized, retextured, and rerendered the piece to more effectively evoke the aesthetic of Titanfall 2, and also my own updated skills and style.

I wanted to give this piece a hodge-podge, graffitied feel, as if it had had parts destroyed and replaced.
